Step 5. Mat, layer and embellish as required.
Step 6. Glue a peg on side of the gate so that when the card closes the peg can hold it together. I have used a flower to cover the peg.

Kay's Winter Warmers
Winter Warmers, Plenty of Layers!
So we are still in Winter and hoping for Spring, its been a cold Winter so to warm us up we have Kay's Showcase card for 'Plenty of Layers'. I am sure you will agree this card gives us a warm feeling inside. This card makes me wish I was sat with a hot bowl of soup and warm crusty bread with lashings of butter...a tuna sandwich will :-)
So we are still in Winter and hoping for Spring, its been a cold Winter so to warm us up we have Kay's Showcase card for 'Plenty of Layers'. I am sure you will agree this card gives us a warm feeling inside. This card makes me wish I was sat with a hot bowl of soup and warm crusty bread with lashings of butter...a tuna sandwich will :-)
Kay has kindly given you a step by step guide to making this card so why not treat yourself to this mask and have a go??? It's a bargain price of £3.45 from the SplodgeAway Site.
Over to you Kay:
My view on this weeks theme lent towards warm colours and lots of layers. To make this card I used:
SplodgeAway Easy Ink Card
SplodgeAway Lattice Mask
Grand Nestabilities Labels 4
Spellbinders Edgeabilities
Molly Bloom Stamp
Dimension Stamp
Buttons
Paper self adhesive lace
White pen
Adirondack Inks in Mountain Rose, Terra cotta and Cranberry
Promarker pens
Memento Black Ink Pad
Pinflair glue and Art Glitter glue
To start I cut a piece of Easy Ink 7.5" square and
embossed it using the mask. I also cut out the smallest two Grand
Nestabilities labels and embossed the largest with the mask. I then
distressed the base card with Mountain Rose . The embossed label was
then coloured with Terra Cotta and edged with Cranberry. Next i stamped
the Molly bloom little girl with Momento onto the smallest label and
coloured her in with a selection of Pro Markers. I then edged this with
Cranberry.
The border was next to be cut out and then edged with Cranberry on
the top and Terra Cotta on the bottom. I then stuck the self adhesive
lace along near the top of border.
The flower stamp was then made by stamping the two smallest flower
heads and two leaves in black momento. I then cut out and coloured with
shades of peach and green. used the white pen to fill in the dots. When
it was dry I shaped with my fingers and glued together with pinflair
glue .
All of the pieces are now ready to assemble onto base layer and I
think this is self explanitory if you look and the card. The only thin
left is the buttons which I glued on last with pinflair.
I hope you enjoyed this project. I have to say I really enjoyed making this one.
Happy Crafting
Kay
