A Yard of Twine

Hi everyone. Well we all know how difficult it can be to make men’s cards so I thought I’d give it a go and use a yard of garden twine to make my card.

Project By Jayne Davies

Ingredients

SplodgeAway mask/ mat

A4 cream card

Patterned Craft card

Indigo Blu Alice in Wonderland stamp set

1 yard garden twine

Versamark ink pad and Copper embossing powder

Advocado liquid pearls

Brown spectrum noir pens

Spiced marmalade, forest moss and vintage photo distress inks

Sentiment of your choice

 Recipe

Fold the cream card in half to make A5 card and, using your splodgeaway mat, use all 3 inks to colour the edges of the card. Make sure they’re blended together well with no hard edges of colour. Put to 1 side.

Cut craft card to 14 1\2cm x 17cm . Cover 1 side of the mask with versamark ink, place it on your craft card where you want it (ink side to the card) and run through your die cutting machine on emboss. Sprinkle copper embossing powder on it and melt with heatgun. Once cooled use the same 3 colours of distress inks to colour the craft card. Use a clean dry tissue to remove any colour from the embossed part. Flick water on it and dry to give a little more texture. Pull spectrum noir pen around the outside to create a border. Fix to card blank.

Cut a piece of craft card 14cm x 2 1\2cm and cover 1 side with double sided tape. Cut 6cm off yard of twine and wrap the rest around the card piece, pressing it into place. Put another piece of tape over the top of the first to hold it, tie the 6cm piece around the front and fray it out. Attach it to the card using 2 small brads

Stamp the mad hatter onto the craft card and again onto a scrap of card. Distress the scrap card image to match the background and cut out. Use foam pads to stick the scrap card image over the stamped image, slightly offsetting it to give dimension.

Use various other stamps, inking them and applying with your hand (not mounted) all over the background, using all the distress inks.. Colour the top of your pens with spectrum and stamp these onto your background.

Stamp sentiment onto a piece of craft card, Colour the edges with spectrum noir pen and stick to your card using foam pads. Finish with liquid pearls.

Hope you have fun having a go at this card.

Thanks for looking. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx
