Zoe's Autumn Owl.....

Hi Splodgers Welcome to the weekend!!

Today we have Zoe's Autumnal Owl to share with you......

Here is how she did it.....

I started by die cutting some watercolour card, using a mask to create the moon.
Lightly spritz with water and then swipe across using Distress stains. Using a wet paint brush faux bleach out some clouds by applying water and dab off with a tissue.
Remove the moon mask and ink using distress inks, faux bleaching a few more clouds in the moon.
I then used Frayed Burlap and black soot Distress Ink to create the image using the owl StenSkape.
The foliage bottom right is from the fairy StenSkape before highlighting the tree and owl using Tarnished brass metallics distress stain and a few blobs of gold glitter.
To finish I edged with empire gold gilding wax from Pebeo.

All the stencils are available here

We hope you inspired for the weekend - Dont forget to share with us over on FB!!!

Kay's Autumn Offering

Good Morning Splodgers!!!

Today Kay is sharing this stunning piece of art with us....

Kay cut a 5 x 7 piece of card and placed it down with a piece of cling film over it and the film was cut so that it was larger all round than the card.

She then covered the cling film in the area the size of the card, randomly with distress inks in Peacock Feathers, Ripe persimmon and Salty Ocean then liberally sprayed with water. Kay then crumpled the cling film slightly useing a  pinching action.

The next step was to place the card over the inked area and wrap the excess cling film around the back of the card. the with inked side facing  she moved the ink around till the paint mixed and cover all the card. this was put aside for ten minutes and then the film removed. this gave the background of the card.
Then she placed the Splodge Away Crackle mask over the card and rubbed black soot distress ink over it.

Next the image and sentiment were stamped before going around the edges with Crushed Olive distress ink .
The next stage was to use some mixed flitter flakes randomly around the edge.

Finally using a mini leaf mask from Splodge Away Kay went in randomly with a mixture of crushed olive and ripe persimmon distress inks to put some subtle leases on.

This is a fabulous technique - we hope you are inspired!!

If so we'd love to see some of your makes with your Splodge goodies over on our FB page here
