Christmas Is Coming!!

Good Morning Splodgy Splodgers,

How are you all today?

I hope you are all well and enjoying the week. We are currently in the middle of a house move so I hope as you read this we are all settled in.

Can you believe as of tomorrow it is only 6 weeks until Christmas!!! Arrghhh I need to finish Christmas shopping and quickly. Part of the deal of moving was Tom allowing me to put up the Christmas decorations in the shop!!

So this week is aptly called 'Christmas is Coming' and who better to start the week off than Zoe.....

Zoe has used the 8" x 8" Holly the Lot Mask to create a beautiful simple yet effective Christmas Card.

Rather late on my part but this is a stunning 'Sparkles' card from Zoe for Fireworks night using the Swirly Mask.

Thank you to Zoe for both stunning cards.
Check out Zoe''s Blog for more inspiration.

I hope the blog gives you lots of inspiration to start all of those Christmas projects.

Enjoy your day,

Susan xx

Kathleen's All Sparkly

Good Evening Splodgy Splodgers,

How are you this evening? Sorry we are late in posting, we have some exciting news that we might be moving house this week so we have been running around all day and wondering if we can pack the house in a day???

Today is the last day of out 'Sparkly and Glitter' Week and tomorrow is the start of our Christmas postings....sorry..hehe.

Kathleen is showcasing her beautiful card today using the 'Dressform Mask' and 'Floral Foundations Nesting Flowers'

"I used my SplodgeAway Mat as a water palette by applying ink onto it, spraying water and ‘rubbing’ card on to collect ink. I did this with red, orange and yellow distress inks. I then used gold and red cosmic shimmer powder and just brushed it over the background.
I embossed some white shimmer card using the 'Fancy Lattice' mask and cut to size.
I traced the outlines of the dresses using the Dressform Mask onto a sparkle shimmer card and cut these out, and used black distress ink through the mask to create the woman and the dummy and then cut these out. I layered the dresses over and added a bit of ribbon.
The flowers were made by embossing the loose flowers on the same white card, cutting out and colouring using the orange distress ink. some spots of glue and some bronze coloured glitter made the middles"Thank you Kathleen for a lovely piece of work. Check out Kathleen's Blog for more inspiration.

As soon as I have a spare slot this week I will be posting the showcases from the Create and Craft Show on Friday. Thank you to everybody who watched and bought. It was a very busy show and I think Tom did a great job.

Enjoy the rest of the evening,

Susan xx

Kay's Firework Project

Good Morning Splodgy Splodgers,

How are you? Isn't the weather getting cold and frosty?

Well today is the day that Tom returns to our screens on Create and Craft (unless you are reading this after 10am) with a StenSkape Special including the launch of the SplodgeAway From the Ground Up Tutorial DVD.

Kay has been busy and created a beautiful bright and colourful using the 6" Fan Tail Mask.

"Just a little bit about it. It was very simple to make I just coloured through the mask in different shades of distress inks and then left the mask on and sprayed with spray and sparkle. To finish off I edged in red and then added the gems.x"
Thank you Kay for a lovely sample. If you would like to see more of Kay's work please check out her blog.

Check back over the weekend for a showcase of the lovely samples made for the Create and Craft Show,

Have a Lovely Day,

Shell's Star Card

Good Morning Splodgers,

How are you all today? Have you recovered from all of the Fireworks? We took Holly to the local display and she loved it, she was clapping and reaching out for them.

This amazing card was scheduled for Monday but blogger has been playing up and as we have been busy prepping for Create and Craft on Friday I didn't realise so sorry Shell.

So Tom returns to Create and Craft on Friday at 10am with a StenSkape special which will be really good.

Shell has been busy creating a stunning project for the '2 in 1' masks project.

Shell has demonstrated the versatility of the masks as she has used components from Layout masks to create this gorgeous baby card. Shell has used the Fairy Dust and Maria and Annette Special Layoutz.

Thank you Shell and don't forget to check out Shell's blog for more inspiration and exceptional colouring.

Have a Lovely Day

It's All About the Men!

Good Morning Splodgy Splodgers

5 DAYS UNTIL TOM IS BACK ON CREATE AND CRAFT

How are you today? I hope you are all
well and enjoying the weekend. Don't forget if you live close enough SplodgeAway is at the Ross PaperCraft Show at Rainton Meadows until 3pm.

Today on the blog we are showcasing 3 amazing designers who have all created 'Male' projects. Most of us struggle to come up with male cards but these shall definately give you inspiration :-)

Claire Chapman has created this amazing card using 2 of the SplodgeAway Masks.

"I used the Complex Frame Mask and the man from the Altered Art Kit with acrylic paint and my gelli plate to make the background. Then I Splodged some distress ink (Broken China, Antique Linen and Tea dye) on my SplodgeAway Mat, misted with water and swooshed the print through the ink, the acrylic paint acts as a resist so the ink settles where the paper is blank. I liked it so much I decided not to use a topper, I just added some twine, a little charm and a bow topped off with a button."
Rae used the 'FIsh on StenSkape' to create this beautiful subtle male card.

Lovely Rae, thank you :-)

And, last but not least our new DT member Liz has made this versatile card using the 'Diamond Metal' mask. Can you imagine all the themes for this card...Birthday, Driving Test, Congratulations and much more...

Thank you to Liz, Claire and Rae for your stunning work today. Don't forget to call over to the ladies craft blogs for more information and projects,

Enjoy Sunday and see you tomorrow,

Susan xx

It's the Weekend!!

Good Morning,

How are you all today? It's finally the weekend, I hope you all have something nice planned for the weekend.

If you live close enough why not call into the Ross PaperCraft Show where the SplodgeAway Team will be standing, demonstrating and lots of new products :-)

November 3rd. 2013
Rainton Meadows Arena, Mercantile Road, Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne & Wear, DH4 5PH. (10am-3pm)

Today we are showcasing the '2in1' mask projects. We all seem to collect lots of crafting goodies including masks so this blog is perfect to show you how you can combine masks on your crafting projects.

Kay has used the 8"x8" Flourish the Lot Mask and Vintage Birdcage to create this lovely card. I love the gold and green colour combination.

Thank yo Kay, check out Kay's Blog for lots more inspiration.

Claire Sweeney has produced this very vivid tag! Love It!

"To create my tag I spritzed it with dylusions sprays in lemon zest, bubblegum pink, postbox red, crushed grape and a little bit of black marble.  Once dry I added grunge paste through parts of the Cut Log Mask and when this was dry I used distress inks to give the grunge paste some colour and definition.  Next I used the Mask of Many Faces to add the images to my tag using distress ink and acrylic paint.  I inked around the edges of the tag with black soot distress and doodled a couple of lines around the tag to form a border.  To finish of the tag I added some red and clear pearls to the eyes and then added a double ribbon to the top.

Hope you like it :)
"

Well I definately like it Claire and I know you will all of loved it so call over to Claire's Blog.

Last but not least I would like to introduce our new DT Member:
'Liz Daniels'

If you call back next week we will have some more gossip on Liz but until then I will leave you with this fantastic Autumn card.

"Using Distress Inks I used the edge of the Fantasy Fairy StenSkape to create the colour on the card leaving a white centre panel. I applied mica over the inked area and then stamped over a leaf image, I re-applied the mica to leave a subtle effect. I used the Flower Creator to create 2 felt flowers. (TIP: I used glue dots to sandwich the felt together as glue marks) I created the leaves with the creator, inked and embossed. A sentiment was created on the computer and then  mounted onto a die cut."

Thank you Liz, what a fantastic card!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and see you all tomorrow,

Susan xx

A triple special today :-)

Good Morning Splodgy Splodgers,

Happy 1st of November! It's nearly Christmas......

but...to take our minds off that scary thought we are continuing with the '2 in 1' mask projects and we have 3 amazing DT showcases...

Angela has been busy and used the Ernie Owl Disk and the 8" Leaf the Lot Mask to create this beautiful stunning card with glitter paste.
Check out Angela's blog for lots more lovely inspirational work.

Yvonne has also been busy and created this fantastic piece of work:
"For this project I used the Brickwork mask and the 8" Splodgy Mask.

I took the wall print from my Gelli plate using red and black acrylic paint.
When dry I coloured the Brickwork with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I added splats
using red and yellow acrylic paint mixed with modelling paste. The "Kilroy was

here" was traced onto tissue paper and added to the wall using matte gel medium.

Thanks Yvonne"

Check out Yvonne's Blog for more inspiration and information.

And last but not least our own Dragon 'Hazel' has been busy aswell:
