The Final Reveal and our last Vintage Lady

Vintage Christmas card. By Jayne Davies

As most of you know I LOVE vintage so was really looking forward to this theme. I wanted something away from my usual vintage designs and this is what I came up with:

Ingredients
Splodgeaway mat / holly-the-lot mask
Alcohol inks: caramel and cranberry and blending solution
Promarkers: poppy, sienna and Moss
A4 cream card and A4 craft card
A5 shiny coated card
Vintage image (mine was an original cabinet card)
Dyan Reavley Christmas sayings download
Scraps of coloured paper for hat and for matting and layering
Small piece of upholstery trimming
Ribbon
2 small bells and metal corner embellishment
Craft mat
Tea dye distress ink
 Recipe
Start by sprinkling a few drops of both alcohol inks and a little blending solution onto the craft mat and ‘swipe your coated card through it until it’s all covered. You may have to do this a few times to get the desired effect. Place the mask over it and use the moss and poppy promarkers to colour the pattern in (like stencilling).Outline the design roughly with black pen to add to the distressed look.
Fold A4 cream card in half to create your card blank and using splodgeaway mat and distress ink, ink around the outer edges of your card blank. Cut the background card and layer onto some craft card then onto your card blank.
Mat and layer your vintage image onto dark paper and adhere to your card front. Add a hand cut ‘christmas hat’ to the image and a metal embellishment. Cut out the sentiment of your choice and colour it with mat and distress ink as before. Glue into place.
Add a length of upholstery trim across the bottom of the card and a bow and the bells to the top right corner to finish.
Hope you like my take on the vintage Christmas card! Try and think of funny captions for your vintage images and have FUN!
Thanks for looking. Hugz, Jayne xxx
