Jayne's No More Blue's.

Jayne's No More Blue's

I apologise that I have not listed the post early but I have had one very demanding baby. Well. the sun shone today...hooray!!!

Also, over on the SplodgeAway Website Tom has been busy designing more kits and he has listed a fantastic 'Abstaktz' kit.

Today we are showcasing Jayne's Colourful Friendship project. This is a beautiful side stepper card and Jayne has kindly included the instructions to make this card.

This card looks quite unusual but is only a simple stepper card turned on it’s side and is simple to make!

Materials
SplodgeAway 12" x 12" Mat
SplodgeAway Square Edged Lattice Mask
Large eyelet and crop-o-dile tool

Instructions

Work on the card blank with the fold on the right hand side. Using your SplodgeAway Mat blend all 3 inks all over the entire front of the card. Place the mask down and spray water over it, leave for a minute and carefully blot dry, removing some of the ink. Leave to one side.

Stamp your image onto the mountboard and colour using the distress inks. Cut it into a tag shape, punch and add eyelet to the top. Stamp the quote onto a scrap of card, cut out with the die and ink the edges. Finish off these two pieces by doodling ‘stitches’ around the edges.

To make the Stepper element of the card place the image tag into position and cut down top and bottom of it from the fold side. Don’t go any further than halfway and crease both ways. Push the fold of the cut part to the inside, leaving a space to attach the hanging tag in. Attach the tag by threading a thin ribbon through the eyelet and attaching it to the top with a button and ribbon bow. Add the quote panel as shown and add sentiment stamp to the bottom and the ‘friend’ to the top using glitter stickers.

Carefully draw around the design on the mask around the top and the bottom of the quote to make a flourishes design and decorate the lines with dots of stickles to finish.

You could make loads of variations on this design. How about hanging photographs or even a piece of jewellery in the aperture? Experiment and see what you can come up with. Have fun and thanks for looking. Hugz, Jayne

Thank you Jayne for your lovely piece.

Happy Splodging
